As some of you may know, who have followed me from the WMD pCars early days, I am not in this for the money, however to aid the development and deliver a really compelling application with dynamic gauges, flexible charting, a modern UI look and the opportunities in the future for expanding into other platforms I made the decision to invest in the Telerik DevCraft toolsets (WPF Controls for reference). I opted for the Complete package to allow for future expansion of the application.
The application is developed heavily around these controls and gives you the look and experience you are now enjoying (hopefully). However the cost of these tools stood me at $1,500, which I have already paid. To donate will help me recover this cost and allow me to renew the licenses every year to keep the development of this application running over the coming years.
By donating even £3 or $5 with enough community members doing the same will result in my costs being covered. Any money over and above what I have outlaid I will put back into the development by investing in additional controls or maybe even offering up prize draws for goodies.
I am lucky as my day job keeps me in a comfortable living and allows me to race for real and buy some virtual racing goodies. I will always be willing to invest my time in this project and have spent hundreds of hours currently developing the application. I will continue to do this as long as I am not having to fund the controls cost as well.
Gotta be some give and take right? 🙂
I had a long discussion in my pCars thread about this and the pros and cons of doing this. I have therefore decided to offer those who are willing to support the development a chance to contribute. If you have any questions please feel free to ask and I will be willing to discuss this further.
So please donate what you can. I will keep a record and if I ever switch to a ‘donate to enable features model’ in the future, I will remember those who supported me from the outset.

And finally, thank you.
I’ve had a blast writing this and I hope you find it very useful and a ‘must have’ when you’re racing, virtually of course…
